With proper care, traditional box braids typically last 6–8 weeks. Longevity depends on braid size, hair growth rate and maintenance. Smaller, tighter boxes may loosen faster; regular scalp care and nighttime protection extend wear and keep your style looking fresh.
We offer jumbo, large, medium and small box sizes across shoulder, mid-back, waist and hip-length options. Tell us your preferred fullness and length during consultation so we can recommend the right size, weight and time estimate.
Appointment length varies by braid size and length: jumbo waist installs take around 3 hours, large and mid-back about 4 hours, medium waist around 5 hours, and small hip-length can take up to 6 hours. We provide exact times when booking.
